The Early Childhood Education Program is a 2 year competency-based diploma program. This program helps students gain the knowledge and skills required to work as an early childhood educator.
Students will learn how to :
- Plan and implement educational activities which foster comprehensive child development;
- Create a healthy and safe environment;
- Respond to children’s needs at various levels;
- Observe and detect developmental issues;
- Develop supportive relationships with parents;
- Work as an effective team member;
- Work with francophone communities, particularly exogamy families, in order to help in their french language development.

High School Diploma or the equivalent :
- Adult High School Diploma
- GED Diploma of High School Equivalency
- Criminal Record Check
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates from this program can find employment in day care centres, pre-school programs, child development centres, after-school programs, and in community-based organizations dealing with child development.
