Human Services Intervention Techniques For the Adult Population
This 2 year diploma program is designed to produce graduates who can function as facilitators and “front-line” workers in the delivery of human services. Graduates will be able to prepare and implement developmental programs and supports in a variety of service settings.
Students receive a thorough orientation in the field of human services, as well as academic instruction in a variety of topics including human development, human relations, written communication, social role validation, life style planning, psychology, family support, program planning and support, and more. Theory is applied during field placements within the community involving individuals with a variety of challenges.

Graduates from this program may be employed in various community establishments such as residential services, senior housing centres, private community agencies, mental health clinics, social services agencies, group homes, and mental health community workshops.
Program considerations
The first year of this program consists of general courses which are shared with Human Services Intervention Techniques for children and youth. The second year consists of courses and clinical practice which allow students to further specialize in the area of Intervention Techniques in the adult population.
