Wellington, PEI, May 19, 2015 – The Réseau des cégeps et des collèges francophones du Canada (RCCFC), of which Collège de l'Île is a member, is offering 25 immersion students a $5,000 scholarship to cover tuition for their first year at one of the colleges or establishments that is part of RCCFC for the 2015-2016 school year.

immersion affiche francaisTo be eligible for one of the 25 available scholarships, you only have to be enrolled in an immersion program at an English-language secondary school and registered in a program at Collège de l'Île for the 2015-2016 school year.

This is a unique opportunity to study in French and benefit from a high-quality college education while undergoing an enriching cultural experience. Students will also gain linguistic and cultural assets and become more familiar with a minority Francophone community while at the same time contributing to its vitality. This combination will give them a head start in the labour market.

The contest ends at the end of June 2015. The final selection of scholarship recipients should be done by July 15, 2015.

For those thinking about a postsecondary education, Collège de l'Île will be offering the following programs this September: Bilingual Administrative Assistant, Accounting Clerk, Early Childhood Educator and Assistant (part-time), Human Services, Resident Care Worker, Youth Worker and Welding. The Practical Nursing program starts in January 2016.
