WELLINGTON, PEI, January 14, 2016 – Every year, Collège de l'Île provides entrance scholarships for students. For the second year in a row, the Collège is offering a $1,000 entrance scholarship to one student from each high school on Prince Edward Island. Anyone enrolled and accepted in a full-time program offered by Collège de l'Île in the 2016-2017 academic year is eligible.

“We want to encourage young people who speak French to think about obtaining their post-secondary training in French. We want our young people to take full advantage of the efforts they have invested in learning French throughout their years at school,” explained Donald DesRoches, President of Collège de l'Île

Collège de l'Île is offering the following scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year:
  • A $1,000 entrance scholarship to one graduate of each high school on PEI.
  • One $1,000 entrance scholarship to an adult student returning to school after having been out of a PEI high school for at least one year.
  • One $1,000 entrance scholarship to a student who is not from PEI.
  • One $500 scholarship to a student enrolled in a program related to the Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS): Resident care worker, Human services, Youth worker or Licensed practical nurse.
Collège de l'Île is also holding a contest for potential students, who can win a $2,000 credit toward tuition in any full-time program starting during the 2015-2016 academic year. In September 2016, Collège de l'Île will be offering the following regular programs: Bilingual administrative assistant (certificate and diploma), Accounting clerk, Early childhood educator, Early childhood assistant, Human services, Youth worker, Resident care worker and Welder. The deadline to enroll in these programs and enter the contest is February 28, 2016.
